You are brave to do that around the truck. I normally just trim close but no edge. Or just use my stick edger. But looks good

hold the butt of your string trimmer higher above your head even because when you hold it down it angles towards you

make sure the trimmer head 90° no tilting. I adjust the loop handle so I grab it the same way every time
