it doesn't help that Florida contains Disney World and Universal which is a major hub for travellers worldwide. so literally unleashing an unvaccinated population on people who will then get on a plane and spread it to every corner of the world.

Keep them away from tourist traps, for one. The FL people, as a previous one, will be at all the likely places.

Vaccines and masks if you live there. Masks if an outbreak happens near you. I'm a teacher, I have to send my son to school and hope for both of us to be safe. Most people can't leave the US, especially now that inflation here is insane. Even if someone bought my house, I sold all my shit, and wanted to leave, I probably still couldn't afford housing or guarantee that my S/O and sister could find a job out of the country. Not to mention leaving our support system behind.

Doing what I can but not stressing what can't be helped. Vaxing my kids, pro science pediatrician, choosing school/care settings that require vaccination. Would consider masking if there's an outbreak. Not vacationing in FL.

If your kids can be vaccinated, doesn't that solve the problem for your family? Obviously the public health crisis will be awful, but your kids aren't at particular risk.

I promise you love you do not need vaccines, they weaken your immune system, your immune system (as long as you don’t have any exsisting conditions that’s diffrent) builds from being exposed to germs, vaccines are harmful. You will be okay and so will your kids, but that’s the point it’s free choice, just being you want to pump your kids with chemicals doesn’t mean I should have too I’ve been unvaccinated my whole life and I’m okay. OUR BODIES OUR CHICE, the government SHOULD NOT be able to mandate me to put something in my body that I do not want.

If your children have been vaccinated, they are or should be safe. Right? I know vaccines don’t always keep people from getting ill, but it certainly lessens the effects of the illness. Sometimes people are kept from becoming ill because they have been vaccinated. I grew up when there were no vaccines and I had all of these illnesses so I must have had immunity. I bet I was exposed over the years to these viruses. I never had the illnesses again. I am considering getting an MMR vaccine because I bet my immunity has waned over the course of my life and with the influx of unvaccinated children/people the viral load out there may increase. One can only hope that administrations will change in the not too distant future, school systems will require mandatory vaccines and if parents choose not to then they have to find alternatives to their childrens’ education. And those alternatives have to be approved, the parents, if they’re the teachers, have to be qualified to teach their children. I’m not against homeschooling but not every parent is qualified to teach much more than the very basics. Some just don’t care. And we don’t need fewer less-educated people in this world, we need educated people to fix and solve our problems and make the world a better place for us all.

Mask, avoid people who have traveled to Florida, and if your own children are vaccinated that should hopefully be enough. Once a few hundred Floridian kids…oh wait, they don’t care what happens to kids… Sigh. Let’s prey a billionaire catches the measles or chicken pox so something is actually done about it.

You can’t. And it isn’t just Florida. Disease spreads. Even vaccines aren’t 100% effective so people whose immunity has worn off or who can’t get the vaccines are going to get sick. And to add a cherry on top we’ll all go broke trying to use a crumbling healthcare industry. This is the bad place. 😭

I'm not kidding 2020 was practice run for us... to help show us the possibilities of living outside of the brick box. Its not just Measles. Its not just pew-pewz & boom-boomz & ice ice baby boots boots boots... its all of it and more is coming. Help eachother. We need to find like minded people in our community and build. Build our communities in our community. Help eachother
