Just got finished doing two rounds today on my 12 valve with 625's at 150ft/lb.....before putting coolant in the engine......👍🏻

I do a hot retorque and drive about 1 week 500 miles and do another hot retorque on 425s at 135ft pounds. It is a o-ring head though 🤷🏻♂️

I torque 2000s to 145 and never had an issue and never had to re torque.

425. 135lbs. Red lock tight on the washer. dont need a hot retorque. Especially when u torque above what is recommended

I blew the head gasket within 1k miles not doing the retorque. New gasket with a hot retorque and it’s been good. I will never not do it again.

Hot retorques are for fire rings. ARP says they’re unnecessary on anything else

It’s good practice, however, I’ve never done it. Never had an issue either. Just check valve lash and away I go. I’ve been in the 500-800hp range running superchargers. You start getting over a 1000hp with a good amount of boost and I can see the heads lifting.

Running 625s which is where youll find alot of people (including myself) don't hot retorque. I have over 40k miles on these studs with lots of heavy towing, original head and gasket. 2000s however, i would retorque.

I didn’t hit retorque the studs in a fresh engine with a .020 over gasket. Filled the radiator with oil after about 150 miles
