The survivorship bias in these comments are wild. Yes, the guys like this who make it 5+ years do great. But that’s the 1 out of 100 who are actually good at it. The washout rate in pure commission sales jobs is astronomical.

Life insurance agent here, not making 400k but just started and making over 10k a month. I have a year of experience selling health insurance but I picked up on that quick. Started doing 20 sales a day on my first week of selling health. Some people got it and some people don’t. Yall just be hating cause it sounds too good to be true. The commission rate on life insurance policies is high. You can sell 1 policy and make 1000+ on it. Sell 10 of those and you’re making 10k. That’s 30 days to sell 10 policies. Good agents do that in a week. Do the math

Ngl this is how my grandpa started off. After a few years he was like “I could do this myself” quit his job and opened his own insurance company and made millions he even wrote a book about it. He was a typical frat boy with terrible grades in the 70s and somehow it worked out lol

As someone who works in insurance, I can confirm that the industry was started by this guy and continues to hire people like this guy. And they do end up making $400,000 a year. They hire just enough smart women to actually do the work.
