I had that EXACT feeling when I went to the shelter on a Tuesday randomly and got my 1 year old shepherd. He was on the euthanasia list and is SUCH a good boy 😭🥰

14 years ago I felt the same pull to go to the shelter… waited outside for two hours to look at a dog that I said probably won’t be for me. That same dog saved my life 4 different times. He was my soul dog and there will never be another one like him. Windsor Dean was his name

try a martingale collar or easy walk for the pulling. i have 2 american bullies and they’ve worked wonders. it doesn’t hurt them either:) i worked at an animal shelter and we’d use them for the “reactive dogs” to work on the pulling.
