As the male best friend of a married woman, this is exactly why I stepped back. I noticed she was relying on me to meet her emotional needs in ways her husband should. She insists her husband doesn’t care but to me that doesn’t matter. She is someone I used to be in love with and I wouldn’t want to be in her husband’s shoes. Of course me stepping back upset her, which is not what I intended, but I really feel she and her husband need to work on these issues.
