@healingwithemilyg: Replying to @paloma💌 The advice starts at 0:44! The last few videos i’ve done about this have gotten positive feedback so i’ll make a few more! #narcissisticabuserecovery #narctok #narcissisticabuse #emotionalabuse #rumination
When I start ruminating I open my notes app and look at the never ending evidence of what pain he has actually caused me.. it helps when I start romanticizing him. Start journaling about the trauma he/she put you through. It is essential.

I actually can’t stop ruminating over all the things that were very abusive which I didn’t notice while I was trapped in it

This is so true. I been playing out in my head the whole story “good times” because something definitely happened before or after the “good times” that made me really realize what was going on. It helped me move on when I realized the good times came with a price everytime

this helped me so much, I kept going back and forth about this while healing and trying to forgive by saying "oh but he did xyz that was nice.."

those “good moments” can be unconsciously (or indirectly??) transactional. I mean, tht is point of love bombing, however, when a disagreement occurs, those “good moments” or nice things they’ve done are used as leverage. And like what i said to someone, “if you all you can think abt are the good memories than how you’re being treated now, it’s a sign to leave the good times as a chapter to close.”

mines kinda rough because he love bombed me and was showing a little manipulation toward the end so i left so i dont have like a lot of evidence to not ruminate or romanticize but hey at least i got out

Whenever he was about to discard me he would say I did things I didn’t do or twist it so I was the bad guy and had me apologizing and begging, he would ignore me then he’d come back and apologize when we didn’t speak for weeks/months. He never changed and it repeated for 3 years. Even after the final discard where he blocked me everywhere and said I “broke his boundaries” for finding out he lied to me and somehow my brain convinces me it wasn’t that bad or manipulation 😃

He just called and hung up, it’s been 4 months. I forgot I had unblocked him but now I’m trying to remind myself so I just block him and get peace. I hate this

positive renforcement is what trainers do w dogs, when the dog do what the trainer wanted, it get a treat or a affection. Does that cost the trainer anything (ie growth, compromise, going out of their way) ? No it costs them absolutely nothing. That's how your abuser is doing it. Maybe for you it was special bc no one did it in another relationship, but they were not treating you like 💩 either so there was no reason for them to show off, performing this extra mile (that they can't maintain obviously).
Yes, some ppl would do the extra mile for you, but let's stop romanticise and idealise relationships. It does exist. it's rare. In this economy and time, having a partner that sees you and value you for who you are is the bare minimum we should settle for. The rest is bonus. And this bonus should absolutely include zéro abuse.

Girl you are SO right , thank you for this . 3 days ago my ex hit me for the LAST TIME . blocked him on everything possible. Haven’t heard from him since and while I bet you 1mil he’s perfectly fine rn. Whilst I feel as though I’m coming off heroin. He was the most self centered manipulative abusive misogynist .
