most if factories in sea come from usa, china, japan and s korea indonesia doesnt even connect with the mainland of asia, the cost would be higher, vietnam close to china thats why they choose them. if i was an investor i do that too.

Gw lulusan top uni indo, juara dunia robotika berkali-kali mewakili Indonesia. Pernah magang menjadi researcher di institusi riset luar negeri. Setelah lulus gw ingin ngabdi ke indo, selama 3 bulan gw daftar perusahaan indo. Ditolak semua. Akhirnya gw muak apply job di indo, dan apply job di luar negeri. Dan langsung di hire perusahaan amerika.

one of the strengths I noticed about indonesians are their craftsmanship, especially like architectural and construction development. they can create some big construction type or construction manufacturing industries with that. granted china has monopolized that but I think indonesians can definitely penetrate into that market with state enterprises given their craftemanship skills.

Culture and mindset plays a big part. They are Austronesians, they enjoy a relax life and spend whatever they have on enjoying the moment, which is nothing wrong, but culture like this will not be industrious. Don’t you say Malaysia, which 90+% of Industries is own by foreign investors or minority.

It (by it I mean the politcians and businessmen working with them) focused on harvesting its natural resources (logging) and subsequently turned the logged land into palm oil plantations. These lands were owned by only the wealthy few and significantly widened the wealth gap.
