@autism_beyond_labels: Let’s talk facts. Too many folks out here turning autism into a money grab 🤑 Not for impact. Just income. 📉 Overbilling, underdelivering, and exploiting what families don’t know. 👀 #Daycares calling themselves “therapy centers” with no real support. #ABA clinics running kids through like an assembly line. 💡 Meanwhile, parents are drowning. Kids ain’t thriving. And the system? Broken by design. > Autism was never supposed to be a hustle. But now? It’s the new scam unless we take it back.
ABA is expensive. Medicaid is not paying for kids not making progress.

but ABA has the staff to do the 1:1 work with the kids and schools don't.

I am sorry that you didn’t have the best experience with a company but do not discourage others for their child to get early intervention. I have personally seen the positive impact it has on families for kids with autism.. ABA does work if everyone do there part

I worked in aba, daycare and public school and it’s so complex . The teachers are not trained or daycares to handle some kids and it’s so stressful. Aba therapist are trained and they deserve every penny they get!

The crazy thing is the RBT’s don’t get that money. We’re billed everyday but not usually paid everyday. The system is flawed at the top

really the main difference is in an ABA school they have a 1:1 RBT with them all day, helping them do everything. In a school they are asked to generalize what they learn on their own. so it looks like they come far in ABA because they have help constantly. but when you take them out of that environment and ask them to geneneralize skills it is difficult for them. I always get kids that come from ABA that have supposedly learned something but then can't do that skill in a classroom on their own. such as potty training

They wanted my son to stay in ABA when he was bout to turn 5. Saying he wasn’t ready. I said we’re bout to start kindergarten and we started school.. I didn’t know about IEPs or that he could get a one on one in class.

This is so true! I’ve experienced this personally. They kept telling me my son was not ready for school. I pulled my son out and now he is thriving!

I have to disagree. There is a VA that do an amazing job. But you know the ABA companies that are not great the ones that force you to 20+ hours a week. Is that kind of therapy is not necessary

I really think it depends on the company. Every Aba clinic is not ran the same. For some kids it’s more helpful. They are cutting public school funding

They didn't have any fee reimbursement regulations but medicaid is now working on stopping those extremely.high reimbursement rates.

I’ve been an RBT for 5 years and she’s not lying. These companies be playing with y’all money and kids. I can say they are companies that actually care about your kids but it’s like finding needles in a haystack
