i always do the downstairs first incase you get any slight movement to avoid the upstairs bay moving

down stairs first prop it .bay poles right on plate on top of brick then bay Jack's for the top on metal shims pack it nice and tite

Very impressed you pointed under the cill. Many cowboys fill a large gap with silicon. Did you put a unit in the wrong way round? they had labels to the outside but one was inside. the labels tell you which side is inside or out due to the coated glass.

Why do you not sit the external cill on a bead of silicone? Seen a few vids, folk not doing that? Baffles me, I’ve always done that

Why does no one put a bead of silicone on sills to stop water ingress and also no one ever fits sills to bottom of frames
