In my area there’s a thing called the Pauper’s Oath. Basically it’s when there’s no one to take responsibility/claim of the deceased & the county then pays a minimal fee for a direct cremation.

People really need to start taking out life insurance policies, they can be very affordable and if you have one it can just alleviate a lot of stresses that come along with death.

Over 2grand to cremate… did celebration of life.. over 5 grand to bury the ashes in a plot that’s purchased…. How do we get assistance for burial?

Just cremate me and dump my ashes somewhere. I don’t want a service or a burial. There will come a time when literally no one will know who I was and no one will visit my headstone. That seems so lonely.

I contacted my local Coroner. He said if I was willing to leave my Mom there for 4 months, she’d be considered UNCLAIMED. And they’d cremate her and put her in a shallow grave. So I had to pay out of pocket for expenses. Ohio
