The way the spouse took the other parents passport too to keep them from following. that parent was literally taking that child away forever (or as long as they can)

My Ex left the state with one of little kids when I told him I wanted a divorce. I had no idea where they where for 3 months. Then he called & asked if I had "learned my lesson yet?" Yep. I had everything ready. I waited for him to beat me up again, so I'd have proof & then bam. You bet I learned my lesson.

I'm thinking it was the wife in court. I'm thinking the child is a boy and dad took him back to his country. Sadly mom isn't getting that child back unless she hires someone to do an extraction. This is sad.

My aunt had a friend who husband had plans to leave w the kids but he d!ed in a car accident. They found out after cleaning out the car. They found passports and one way tickets to Nigeria.

I put in my parenting agreements that nobody can take kiddos to any country outside of The Hague Convention, JUST so it’s VERY CLEAR to everyone what the rules are. Everyone thinks I’m overly cautious but NOPE.

Thank you for sharing. When I was a kid, I had some friends kidnapped by a parent to a country that wasn't part of the Hague agreement. The other parent didn't see those kids again until they were adults and could travel alone.

Also in the meantime you can either have your lawyer hold on to your child’s passport or get a safety deposit box. Never just leave them where the other parent can access them.
