Homework is ONLY good for children who have parents home fo help them. As a teacher I truly believe the “homework” in this day and age should spending time with family, eating supper together, going for a walk with your family.

some subjects need practice and there's not enough time in school day. math and English. if they don't get homework, they will fall behind in basic foundational skills. it will show in grade 12...too late

Studies show kids that are elementary and middle school age do NOT benefit from homework. There is no nuance. Teachers who give homework at that age are wrong.

i told the teacher when my daughter came home with loads of homework.. she will not be doing more than 30 mins .. I work all day an would not want to come home and work another 2 hrs .. same senerio.

Our school board only allows homework for their age/grade we aren’t allowed to send lots of homework home. Then highschool hits them hard!

Early primary does not need homework. Upper junior and intermediate can benefit from extra practise to build skills for high school. They are also more independent. Kids work at school for 7 hours they need to be kids when they get home. Work-Life balance needs to be taught too.

This is not new. Homework is t necessary. You can use it for different reasons but homework in every subject for hours at a time doesn’t need to happen coming from a teacher.
