@ddl.tv: A lady identified as Dorothy Kou, also referred to as Ma Haji of Paynesville, Redlight community, behind Ma Kebbeh Gas Station, was turned over to the Liberia National Police yesterday for performing a surgical incision at her house on little Alice Dahn, a child brought from Zehglay, Nimba County, that affected Alice’s spine and preventing the minor from walking. Dorothy (Ma Haji) claimed she was attempting to remove what she referred to as a "witch" from the child's back. However, doctors at the JFK Pediatric Unit confirmed that the child was actually suffering from Spina bifida. Spina bifida occurs when a baby's spine and spinal cord do not develop properly in the womb, leaving a gap in the spine. It is a type of neural tube defect. The neural tube is the structure that eventually develops into the baby's brain and spinal cord.
