I went to college and now have a 6 gig job. I became a republican in college after spending 4 years at a liberal school and realizing all the fundamental flaws of leftist policies.

It’s not that, “all of the sudden they turn republican”, these folks didn’t switch the moment they became successful, they became successful because the switched the victim hood mentality for accountability and self reliance. If that bothers those comfortable living paycheck to paycheck, well, that’s a personal problem.

Our proximity to whiteness has had negative consequences for a long time. I’ve been reflecting on how we often believe that by assimilating into white societies, we will gain the same benefits as they do, all while continuing to oppress our own community. This cycle needs to be acknowledged and addressed.

It has nothing to do with class or education. There are left and right wing parties in every country, including in Latino countries. Many aspects of Latino culture are conservative, for better or for worse.

This describes some of my cousins exactly. They came from immigrant households but held certain people on pedestals because they "were self made and rich" and wanted to emulate that all the while forgetting that those people would immediately betray them.

ok literally why do I have to allign with what you say? my family is latino but arent undocumented, they make good money and arent undocumented, they got their masters and helping my sis and I getting our education, maybe look at their toxic perspective and why many of us dont look back, I never saw it thank god since my family cut off from them

It all depends on the culture of the parents too. if their parents are uneducated and came from humble backgrounds, the kid switches up easily become republican, heavy maga when they cross a financial threshold. All my cousins and myself came from families and parents that had college degrees in their countries, themselves the kid got degrees in the USA, make 100K+ and are heavy democrats.
