In the beginning he was kinda sweet to his wives but once Robin became a "regular" he changed. I think he thought he couldn't "get" a Robin, so once he did, he didn't try with the original wives.

I believe its true he was never attracted to her from nachos onwards. Kody wailing about "sacrifices he made" was him complaining he forced himself to be intimate with her for religious reasons, not because he was ever attracted to her. Kody was resentful because he forced himself to service her for religious reasons. Thats why it was so easy to put her out to pasture.
