I still get looks when I’m in Chicago for a show😭 I also work in aurora and it’s no different lol v grateful to be a piercer and at least work in an environment where it’s the norm lol

Nope… I work in tattoo shops and even in some shops people look at you like you ain’t shiiii… even at some punk shows there’s judgmental people. You can’t escape it even within within what should be subcultures weirdos belong to.

I’ve lived between LA and Chicago all my life and I lived in Logan Utah for a while as a kid and I’ve been traveling all over the country and the world since I was a little girl so I’ve seen lots of places and I’ve been some kind of alternative literally since preschool (my parents were very supportive of self expression lol) and if you want my honest answer - as much as I hate living in LA unique fashion is normalized here in a lot places. Here is the closest you get. I can’t say move to LA cause like don’t, but this is where it’s normalized. As for Chicago, the south loop especially around grant park is a good place to be alt cause there’s a lot of campuses around there. You can normally see like a goth loli or two walking down states street to run some errands or something. The further north you go tho the more sanitized it’s gonna get. But yeah LA will be as good as it gets. No body cares here. We’re so used to it. Kids in schools care sometimes but that’s about it so if you’re an adult here you’ll be fine.
