For the new Chloé summer boutique in Ibiza, the Peruvian-born, Barcelona-based fiber artist Mariana Baertl created a bespoke artwork that integrates with the architecture, covering the far wall. ‘Costa De Sal’ takes inspiration from the Balearic Isles, its sand dunes, waves, and vegetation – a sense of motion guided by hand, in a Chloé palette of warm desert hues. Exploring the dialogue between structure and spontaneity, Mariana’s practice follows a slow, meditative process deeply connected with the materials. With nature as her constant muse — its textures, colors, and imperfections — she transforms fibers into landscapes that invite touch and contemplation.
