umm as someone in this demographic at a CC, and who was also in one at 19, they are called COMMUNITY colleges for a reason. if anything i have seen the opposite..very few older students and many fellow students that are still high school students. And fwiw, the few older students i know (myself included) call the profs by their title (often Dr.).
