About 2 months ago I finally decided I was ready for a new companion. I’ve thought about this decision for years now considering in my family, once you adopt an animal.. they are here for life! I don’t like the idea of taking on the responsibility of an animal and then dumping them the second things get too hard to handle. Because of this… it has never been an easy decision for me to bring an animal home. All that being said… after much thought I decided to drive from Colorado to a little town outside of Bakersfield, Ca to rescue this guy! During my TIKTOK LIVESTREAM I mentioned I was finally ready and I wanted a Large dog (I had just been traveling with 150lb dog in my car and I knew it would work now since I have a new bed buildout in my Prius) so @Urbanvix & Yona 🤍🪽👑 was in my chat and mentioned she knew of a litter of Great Pyrenees puppies that needed help. The litter wasn’t being fed or taken care of properly due to financial reasons and they needed people to adopt them ASAP seeing this is a large breed dog and the beginning months are very important for them to receive proper nutrition for their growth. My mind was blown 🤯!!! I hadn’t mentioned it in the livestream (because I didn’t want anyone to think I was “shopping” for a dog vs. looking for one to rescue) but the Great Pyrenees was my first choice of dog breed and honestly I have dreamed of a white fluffy dog I could name Falcor (after Falkor, the Luck Dragon from the movie The Never Ending Story) since I was a child seeing the movie for the first time and thinking Falkor looked like a dog. After my LIVESTREAM was completed, I called Urban and we discussed the details and I immediately packed up my camp and started heading towards Bakersfield. It took me 2 days (instead of 3) to get there because I really wanted to get there to help and I was so excited to meet the litter. My friend @Pirate in the Wild decided during my LIVESTREAM (being he was already in Cali) that he would also adopt one of the puppies. So we met at Urban’s house that Tuesday 07.29.2025. This coming Tuesday 08.26.2025 will make 1 month we have been together now and I will never be the same! I had no idea I would love a dog this much. I mean we literally clang teeth sometimes and I’m not bothered by it 😆. If I would have known how much love a dog would have brought to my days, I probably would have done this way sooner. However, I’m glad I waited all this time and made sure I was responsible enough. I’m literally obsessed! Obsessed with the smell of his breath, with giving him belly rubs, even the smell of him when he’s wet. Just #obsessed !! I wish I could say the same for my cat, Mercy. She still hasn’t quite warmed up to him yet but as I type this she’s lounging in his crate so I think we’re making some progress… until the next time he’s napping and she decides a lil BAP BAP would serve his lil puppy dreams some action! 🤣 I swear she’s the dog, not him! 🤣 (did ya get it? 😆). I didn’t mean it Mercy, I promise… (I already mentioned what she does to folks in their sleep) 😅 back to the point.. lol A week later Urban also adopted one of the pups so that leaves 2 girl pups of the 8 original puppies in the litter left. They are now 20 weeks old and still in desperate need of furever homes. So if ya know anyone willing to adopt a Great Pyrenees that’s ready to give her a great home, please let us know? They are gentle giants but are very large dogs who prefer the outside and love having other animals to guard as they are an ancient breed of guardian dog. They are nocturnal and bark a lot so please do research though before just jumping to help! However, you’ll never find a sweeter breed. Oh and they listen about 50% of the time 😆 If you made it to the end thank you so very much!
