The orange spray paint on the door is not a a marking of inspection. It is to let other rescuers know that it has been searched and by whom and what condition it is in.

A national tragedy and Thousands of New Yorkers lost and they turn the site into a shopping center. The least the port authority could do is donate a portion of the profits of the business’s there now to the families of the people who lost their lives. Instead they turned a tragedy into a money pit for their own profit. This should be a private grave site !

Could you do a visit to the original location of the survivors staircase which came down from the plaza to Vesey st , the stairs which are now located in the museum 😁

although it seems that this is what is written on the sign above the door with the X, what I learned from being part of the volunteer brigade at my work here in Brazil is that the first dash of the X means that a first person has already inspected the space and found no one and the second dash completing the X means that a firefighter also inspected the area and found no one else
