Unless they've got stem separation or some crazy feature, these aren't intended to replace the 3000s. This is an incremental update likely due to some manufacturing process change My initial thought was that this was an update adding USB C so they could continue to sell units in Europe, but pretty sure that's just for charging devices. No one's going to be refusing gigs because a venue doesn't have these
