This Pup Was Left To Suffer In Agony On The Streets As A Cancerous Tumor Ripped Through Her Abdomen... Meet our #DogOfTheWeek, Princess Diana. After tracking her for over a week, Princess Diana finally walked out into the open road, alone and clearly in pain. Most notably, she had a massive tumor bursting through her abdomen, her fur was patchy and balding, and her eyes were in very bad shape. We reached out to every rescue we knew. We begged for help, but no one could take her, so we had to find a way to make room. After several failed attempts, we finally trapped her. We rushed her to the vet, but the news was even worse than we feared. Princess Diana was diagnosed with TVT (Transmissible Venereal Tumor), an excruciating and contagious form of cancer that causes tumors to erupt at the point of contact. As for her eyes, she suffers from entropion, which causes the eyelids to fold inward and rub against the corneas. Her left eye was damaged beyond repair and had to be removed. We’re still trying to save the other. She also tested positive for Lyme disease and will need a full month of antibiotics. She is anemic, covered in infected skin, and has almost no teeth left. However, through the pain and suffering, she remains the sweetest and most gentle girl. We are desperately working to find her a medical foster while we prepare her to begin chemotherapy.
