True a 1am finish is scandalous. 3am minimum in the residents bar.

too much dancing doesn't exist at a wedding

Our band finished at midnight, DJ at 2am and bar closed at 4am. Irish weddings - wouldn't have it any other way!

Could you give us an ‘ideal’ example of a wedding day time line please, starting from the ceremony?

Yes!!!! I like a ceremony and a lunch or a later ceremony and a dinner and a little dancey so 11-3 or 6-11 perfect

1000% agree with this as an evening wedding musician. 4 hours is the PERFECT window for everyone to enjoy themselves 😊

Stater's are rarely dropped by 7 depending on the length of speeches so it's usually between 9.30 and 10 for 1st dance

Unless you’ve got loads of feral friends and family who will quite literally dance all night! We HAD to extend till 1am for this exact reason 😂

I absolutely agree! 8pm arrival to set up for 9pm. First dance 9.30 finish for 12.45/1AM

Had my 1st dance at 7:30 and didn’t leave the dance floor until our wedding ended at 12 and I wanted to stay longer 😅😂

Couples don’t want to hear this because they don’t want to have to add more hours to their photography and film packages 😂

I've just been to a friend's wedding and we partied from 7.30 till 12.30 and it was amazing! some people did leave around 11ish but that was people with kids or some older peeps. But the rest of us just danced, ate food and took lots of photos in the photo booth. I've been to a lot of weddings with that kind of time frame and it's brilliant!!

my friend got married in Spain, we had the ceremony at 5pm, reception straight after till 2am, then we went to the onsite casino till 7am in all of our wedding outfits! such a vibe, the Bride playing roulette in her dress! 😂

Don’t most people alternate between a boogie and a mingle and have left by 10.30/11 anyway so I see nothing wrong with a 7/7.30 first dance. 😄
