@heavenly_hands_nyc: ⚾ Accessibility at the Ballpark: Mets vs. Yankees Friday, August 29th at Citi Field (Shea Stadium for my OGs 😉) reminded me why I give the Mets props—even as a Yankee fan. From the start, accessibility was on point. At the Staley Entrance (their disability entrance), I was able to come in with my cane and walker. You can either check your mobility aid or bring it with you—they even have places to store it safely. Elevators were smooth, no extra hassle, and when I called Guest Services? They picked up right away and helped me out. 👏 💡 FYI to my disabled and elderly community: If you ever buy a seat that ends up being uncomfortable because of your disability, go straight to Guest Services. They can move you to accessible seating with more legroom and space. Don’t be shy about asking—it’s your right. Now today I’m heading to Yankee Stadium. Even though I bleed pinstripes, I gotta be real—the disability services there haven’t been as responsive. I’ve left messages, but no call back so far. Hoping they step it up, because Citi Field set the bar high. Bottom line: Citi Field has been very supportive of disabled guests. Yankees—I love you, but do better. Accessibility isn’t a favor, it’s a necessity.
