@emmakok: MY TRAUMA 🇳🇱: Aug. 29, 2014 I had suffered my trauma. At my elementary school, you had two playgrounds. From grade three you were allowed to go to the big playground. Of course, that was super cool and very cool. You also had a climbing frame there. The first few days of grade three went really well. But on Friday, the end of the first week at school, it went wrong. I wanted to climb and a friend wanted to lift me up (I was too small haha) and fell on my snakes. It happened so fast that I actually didn't feel any pain. But even at that young age I had a moment to check if the peg tube was still okay. I pulled up my sweater and before I knew it I was screaming in fear. My peg tube was hanging out of my belly (I know that my tube changes back then were done under anesthesia, so I had never seen my peg tube hanging out of my belly before). The headmistress switched gears right away and called mom. While Mom was running to school, the principal had already called 911. The ambulance was on its way and before I knew it I was on my way to the hospital. At the hospital, they tried to push the tube back in (often), but my hole in my belly had grown closed so quickly that the tube could no longer go in. There was no other option but a nasogastric tube. They had placed a catheter so the hole could slowly grow back open. The nasal probe had been placed after a whole lot of misery (I hate nasal probes and especially the placement). After a long day in the hospital, I was allowed to go home. Mom surprised me because in the evening The Voice Kids came on!!! So we went to watch that. I watched the first minute and then I fell asleep. I had to walk around with the nasal tube for six weeks. You can imagine that if this had happened before the summer vacation I would have had to walk around with a nasal tube for the whole summer vacation. Of course that doesn't make it any less bad but then you can imagine a little bit how long that actually is. After many therapy sessions, I can tell this story again.
