@alecoutside: Today (9/5/25) was the 20th Kwita Izina in @VisitRwanda. Here’s 30 seconds from the special day. This is a special day because it highlights the conservation efforts of mountain gorillas. They were set to be extent by 2000 and now they total over 1000 of them in the Rwanda, Uganda, and DRC volcanic mountains. Today, 40 baby gorillas were named, following a tradition in Rwandan culture of naming their children in front of their community.
