Im above knee, i use crutches around the house and up stairs when i dont have my prosthetic (probably not advised) i also have a habit of hopping everywhere. I sleep on my side of the amputation but i place a pillow to prop myself with.

Below knee amputee 🙋🏼♀️bum shuffling for the win! When I was healed I went up on my knees down on my bum! Half price pedicures haven’t worked for me, I even had a podiatrist appointment and had to pay full price! 😂 sleeping on your side, a comfy pillow inbetween the knees, I’m 18 months in and still can’t sleep without my pillow, and my stump 🤢 is called Peggy 😂 I also donated my leg to science, I had a rare cancer so i was hoping they could use it for some good research! You’ve got this! 💪🏼

I’m bellow the leg amputee to start with you will be going up and downstairs on your bum and using you other leg to get up and down.i call my stump stumpy 😂hope this helps

(These are as an above knee amputee) for the stairs I go one step at a time. You will have a booty lol! pedicures are half price for me here in Cali lol. sleeping on the side is a little bit the same, you just kind of squish it lol. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN BY THROWING THE LEG IN THE BIN BUT YES IT IS THROWABLE LOL. I also don’t like the name stump it makes me feel like a tree. I HOPE THIS HELPS, everyone’s experience is different, but I promise life is still just as beautiful.

I’m an above the knee amputee , bum shuffle always never use crutches on stairs u shouldn’t even be advised to use crutches at all at least in the 1st 6 months I’m 9 post amp, never tried a half price pedicure tbh 🤣 sleeping wise ul find it comfortable to sleep with a pillow under or between ur legs at 1st my stump is called patsy from absolutely fabulous and my best friend is Eddie , yes they do put it in a bin I was fully awake no sedation threw my amputation I watched everything and saw it removed and brought up close to me ( personal choice ) I wanted it awake and to watch it all with no sedation. And lastly hun message me at any point ur emotions now will go from a countdown emotion to every emotion u can think of everyday , embrace them all cry scream laugh etc do it all and also don’t shut down get advice and support from other amputee’s xxx

Hiya! I lost my leg, above knee due to sarcoma 3 years ago. I bum myself up & down the stairs when I don't have my prosthetic on and use a zimmer to hop about as they don't recommend hopping about without and I'd much rather keep my other leg in good condition 😂Currently in talks with the surgical team to have osseointergation as a socket has not worked for me at all 💀
