I’m sorry but if you got confused watching any of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, that’s on you. They are incredibly simple films that are very easy to follow.

The problem is too much Jack Sparrow. The first one works so well because he’s a supporting character. As the movies go on he becomes more and more important until every moment of every movie revolves around him.

1-2 and by far the best two in the franchise. 3 is good, but it drops off. The rest are watchable. Not great by any means.

I'd rank the movies like this: Pirates 1 = 10/10. Pirates 2 = 8.5/10. Pirates 3 = 9/10. Pirates 4 = 3/10. Pirates 5 = 6.5/10.

The first is near flawless. The second and third are great. The 4th is strangely paced dogwater and the 5th is a disaster.

pirates 3 is pretty much the avengers before we had a established mcu. fantastic movie, where all the big characters from the last movies all come together to fight a big bad. they've built the characters over previous movies and that's the big pay off. the trilogy is amazing
