doesn’t look like it, discard most of it so you can feed a bigger ratio. that will help improve the health of the starter. the rise should at LEAST be double

Nope! You want way more bubbles and a stringy web when tilting to side. When I first did my starter, I skipped one feed to make it hungry, then fed again the next day. It tripled in size and smelled amazing. Fed for about 2 more days then made my first loaf!

is this a developed starter that you’ve bake with before or are you starting your own and are seeing if it’s ready to bake with?

Alyssa Rebecca :
Try feeding it 4-6 hours before you’re going to bake with it, 20 hours is a pretty long time imo. If your house is cold, try putting it near a warm heat source - like a candle or something! You want to bake when it reaches its peak and right before/after it starts falling

I’d say yeah! She’s frothy and pretty healthy! Just make sure you stir and feed BEFORE use

Do high ratio feeds like 1:5:5 or 1:10:10 using 5g of starter 25g water 25g flour (I always add more flour than water like 5gs more tho)- I’d say 2 or 3 more feeds and she should be ready. Also if your house is cold it’ll take more hours but make sure it at least doubles

one thing that helps me is heating a mug full of water in the microwave for 2-3 minutes and then place your jar in the microwave next to it and leave it!

I’ve heard if you take a little bit and put it in some water and if it floats it’s ready
