What’s wild is I’m half Samoan and black and these are things ive heard from my Samoan side my entire childhood too. It took someone outside of my family to teach me how to love myself completely.

So thankful these hurtful things were never said to me from family but they were definitely said to me by my peers. I was always made to feel that I wasn’t white enough for the white people and not black enough for the black people.
