My husband passed in March 2017. I worked until June 2019, I was 63.5 and had to pay for Cobra benefits until I was eligible for Medicare. I had been at my job for 18 years and it became a very political environment and I struggled to go in to work daily. Quitting was the best thing I did, I’ve never looked back. I love being retired.

I would like to retire, but I need my healthcare. I have some health issues I’m in and I’m a heart patient so what do I do have no healthcare till 6562 now

If I can make a suggestion. My dad retired and then everyone kept him busy with their house projects. He barely had time to do what he loved and I hardly saw him. He passed unexpectedly on Christmas Eve almost two years ago. Protect your time once you have it. If it’s your goal to spend more time with family, protect that- it’s okay to say no. 🥰

Just this week I've decided the same. I'm SO over the negativity in life. im 60 and I've been working since I was 13. 62 it is instead of 65. I'm a nurse, I can work PRN somewhere I'm sure.

I’m single income so I do think about the fact that I’m deciding the amount of my forever income. I’m 59 and deciding on 62 or 65. I have 6 weeks vacation per year at my job so you’d think a few years wouldn’t be a big deal to make a pretty sizable diff in my monthly lagers pymt. BUT I have a boss that is making my work life miserable. He might be retiring himself soon but…idk…ugh, big life decisions. Thoughts? Ideas?

After I retired I got a part time job at a grocery store. I told my boss I didn’t even care if she paid me. I loved loved loved it!!! It was my family, my happy hour, and my gym. My happy place. Pay was not what I was used to, so when Covid came I decided to avoid whatever that was all going to be about and fully retired 4/2020. For those that don’t know, grocery stores became the playground. Women come in by themselves all the time now have their husbands and teenagers with them just to get out of the house. I worked hard and sacrificed and didn’t want to risk getting that and dying …and never enjoying the fruits of my labor.
