Since he said he has no criminal record if true the most he will spend is a few hours in jail. He will most likely get pre-trial diversion and be put on probation till he pays the money back in monthly payments.

Ive worked at DG. If you arent a key holder you cant do refunds. The manager allowed it to happen which is why she is pressing so hard. Thats clear too see. Its also likely that she convinced him to write the statement, likely saying he would be in less trouble if thats what he did. Confession = no deep investigation
