There were legit dozens of wealthy empires and prestigious universities that many scholars all across the world came to study in and the Moors literally taught Europeans how to bathe. European settlers obviously tried rewriting history to make it seem as though Africans were uncivilized and needed colonization but all the evidence for how advanced Africa was is there if you actually look for it.
