Here are some suggestions for non mainstream places to visit in Shanghai: 1. Guangfulin 广富林 - Guangfulin is an archaeological site said to have over 4,000 years of history. Museum of Art Pudong 浦东美术馆 - This museum is located right in the heart of Lujiazui. They always have interesting exhibitions so if you’re a fan of art, do not miss a trip here! North Bund 北外滩 - Many of us have been or are planning to visit the Bund for its famous scenery, but it’s always so crowded. The North Bund is a quieter option and boasts similar views too. The Kaws display featured was part of a special event last year so it’s not available anymore. 📍Hongkou District, Dongdaming Road 558 北外滩滨江绿地东大名路558 Nearest subway station: 提篮桥 Ti Lan Qiao Exit 3 4. Jade Buddha Temple 玉佛禅寺 - This is one of Shanghai oldest temples dating back to 1882. It’s rumored to be great for wishing for wealth. No entrance fee is required. You can do “shakyo” (抄经), which is to copy Buddhist scriptures by hand here. This is said to bring peace and zen.
