The material that a plane is designed of will totally crumble on impact and it did just that. I think personally that their intention was the building would fall over...then over a million would have died but it didn't. Unfortunely jet fuel burns at a higher temperature and like a furnace if you limit the air you increase the heat...the steel couldn't take the prolonged blast furnace temperatures. So when the weight above moved down it was going to ground level. See they hit the towers facing the largest population areas and if one fell one way and the other fell the other way lower Manhatten would have been cut off and millions would have died from the crushing force or maximum debris would have shredded people. Like a giant claymore mine. But that didn't work out as planned.
