I once watched a man, on his TikTok, in the UK trying to give flowers away in London. No one would even make eye contact with him. He probably tried 30x before he gave up. It was sad.

No shade to Europeans because I’m sure they’re all very lovely people, but when I was in Europe this was the one thing I had a really hard time with. I would be so friendly to people and not receiving it back hurt my soul a little 🤣

so, I've heard this kind of statement from a lot of the Europeans who have come to the United states. first off, thank you for the very complimentary description of our people. but, I wondered, from your perspective what is it that makes people from your country less likely to engage in friendly manager? is it a sense of fear or distrust? a sense of pride? is it concern about sharing their thoughts? why is it that people are so hesitant to share their thoughts and opinions with a stranger?
