HAVE NO FEAR [20:21] What if your faith didn’t depend on how you feel? When Mūsā عليه السلام saw his staff turn into a snake, he panicked. Allah ﷻ told him: قَالَ خُذْهَا وَلَا تَخَفْ ۖ سَنُعِيدُهَا سِيرَتَهَا ٱلْأُولَىٰ “Take it, and do not fear — We will return it to its former state.” (Qur’an 20:21) Qāla khudh-hā wa lā takhaf. Sanuʿīduhā sīratahā al-ūlā. Notice the order. “Take it” — the action. “Do not fear” — the feeling. Allah ﷻ commands the step first… and comforts the heart second. But today — we flip the script. We wait to feel spiritual before we act. “I don’t feel connected in prayer.” “I don’t feel ready for ḥijāb.” “I don’t feel inspired.” So we delay obedience… waiting for a mood to strike. But revelation teaches us the opposite. Obey first. Feel later. And when you obey — without waiting to feel — that’s when the heart is trained. Because if your drive is emotion, what happens when emotion fades? Sometimes even the most spiritual moments feel dry. I remember visiting the Prophet ﷺ for the first time… I imagined tears, awe, connection. But when I finally stood before him… I felt nothing. Just… emptiness. Was I broken? A hypocrite? I wrestled with it for days. Until one moment, sitting in the Rawḍah, I whispered: “Even if I feel nothing… I’m here for You, O Allah ﷻ.” And in that instant… it hit. A flood. A moment I’ll never forget. That experience taught me something powerful: Worship isn’t about feelings. It’s about truth. And truth doesn’t change with emotion. So when Mūsā عليه السلام was afraid… Allah ﷻ didn’t just say “Don’t be scared.” He told him why — “We will return it to its former state.” He grounded the emotion in a divine truth. That’s our path too. First: قَالَ خُذْهَا — Take it. Act. Then: وَلَا تَخَفْ — Do not fear. Work on your inner state. And finally: سَنُعِيدُهَا سِيرَتَهَا ٱلْأُولَىٰ — Trust that Allah ﷻ will bring things back, better than before. Don’t wait to feel ready. Obey — and let the feeling follow. #IslamicReminder #QuranReflection #FaithOverFeelings #ObeyAllahFirst #TrustInAllahAlways #MusaASStory #SurahTaha #EmotionalFaith #SpiritualDiscipline #IslamicWisdom #ObedienceInIslam #MuslimMentalHealth #IslamicMotivation #DivineGuidance #FeelingDisconnected #HealingThroughIslam #AllahKnowsBest #RawdahExperience #ProphetMuhammad #SpiritualGrowthJourney
