nahhhh used to work at telstra, someone is in on it. Because when you're purchasing the phones its a whole entire system about the person's details on how much they make a year, their birthdate ect.

Surely you can ask for the CCTV of store when they came in? They did this to my mum they somehow managed to get her Centrelink payment sent to their bank account and applied for an advance payment as well. MAKE IT MAKE FUCKING SENSE.

hi previous telstra worker here, depending how long your account hadn’t been active they should have had alarms raised that you wanted 4 phones at once. the system also shows absolutely everything and for four brand new iphones they would have to have some sort of photo identification regardless. my telstra could never sell anything on a plan without photo identification

I walked into Telstra and got my husband and I the new Iphones, I purchased them outright and I still had to produce photo ID. Seems sus and perhaps the worker was in on it 😳

It took me 3 weeks 4 Telstra shop visit 8 calls to Telstra to just get approved……how is this even possible?? That Cranbourne shop was 100% in on it. I had to show like proof of address and that was a whole ordeal in itself

If you call service Australia you should be able to talk to the ID theft department and they will be able to track what info they have. Also if youve been with Optus since the dater breach like 2/3 years ago- most likely that

this is yalls sign to block your license on dot direct (the place u pay ur rego) and only unblock it when u need it to be electronically verified! it stops this sorta stuff from happening

proof of age card is classed as photo ID. Pairing proof of aged card with Medicare makes up 100 points of ID and makes you eligible for a credit check with any telco like Telstra, Vodafone etc. I think this all falls on myGov tbh because if your account hadn't been breached they wouldnt have been able to access the 100 points in the first place! So sorry this happened to youuuu
