Why should anyone tell a stranger if you're home or not? Homeowners should normalize saying "I don't answer questions" in addition to saying "not interested". Also the homeowner should have said "the only way you're going to talk to me is through the ring camera, so get to the point".

I fell for this one time about 15 years ago. After she was done with the “free” cleaning, The sales person then opened my door and let 4 of her co-workers in and all of them tried VERY hard pressure me into buying. I didn’t, but it was actually more intimidating than you’d think with her and 4 guys in my house. I felt like there was a subtle implication or “you’d BETTER buy this vacuum.”
