Yes yes yes yes YES ! My husband , then boyfriend had a family rumpus room downstairs . Had a pool table , large tv , games , large frumpy oversized couch , didn’t matter if you ate in there . Even a clothes horse with washing on it 😂

Sure do! I haven’t heard that term since the 90s.

Yes it was a room at my grandparents house that they banished the kids to so the grown ups could talk

Yes it’s dated! Would love to hear your commentary on the styling on the block 😂

A room for the kids to go to so they can let themselves go. ‘Kids you’re making too much noise, go to the rumpus room!’ Then the adults have coffee and After Dinner Mints😂

Rumpus Room sounds like somewhere a couch from the 70's lives and the kids are relegated to while the adults have dinner parties.

It feels 1970s to me. It's giving Brady Bunch to me 😂

Rumpus rooms were what we called them in the 70’s and 80’s and they were just an extra space that was barely furnished let alone decorated in any way

More often than not they just end up being a junk room

I love a rumpus room. Feels cozy and warm, games, tv, being loud and messy 🤪

Rumpus rooms just make me thing of small family motels in the 80s where there were shared games rooms

To me, a rumpus is like a multi purpose room with a little reading nook/ wind down space, not what they presented

Thank you! It’s not something that appeals to me like I don’t wanna be closed off in a room to watch tv, 📺 I want it open & interactive.

I called our second living room a ‘rumpus room’ in a house tour video and on reflection didn’t even understand what it really meant 😂 The lingo we use now is wild.

We now call our rumpus room “The good room”. Once the kids grew up, we reclaimed it as a nice place to sit and have our morning coffee, looking out over the garden
