I love the mermaid fics so much bc they’re so different every time. Sometimes they’re mammals with eggs, sometimes they’re sharks, sometimes they’re like eldritch creatures. It’s fun! Also I like thinking about how pruny the human character is the whole time

I just remember that one Hannibal mermaid fanfic where Hannibal was dating wills mother and realized Will was his mate and used wills mother to get him there for the summer. It was wild but so well written.

One of my favorite fics is between a regular human and 10,000 snakes in a skin suit (canonically married btw). That fic explores the logistics of how copulation worked and it lives rent-free in my head. It's not the worst or weirdest fic I've read by a long shot but like I feel if I sent it to anyone I'd get institutionalized
