@hypermobilitydiaries: I just had one of the scariest pains of my life. I sat up, turned my head, and it felt like thunder struck through my skull. It was so sharp and sudden I thought I was having a stroke — I was crying, my eyes hurt so bad, and now everything just feels sore and heavy. Has anyone else experienced something like this? Should I be more concerned? #ChronicIllness #ChronicPain #InvisibleIllness #SpoonieLife #HealthScare
Had a thunderclap headache back in March and just got diagnosed with Vascular Eagle Syndrome.

Even if it passed you should go to ER. You need an MRI

I had a similar pain, but mine was ongoing after the initial thunder clap pain. It ended up being a brain aneurysm. Please go get checked!!!

Thunderclap headache=ER. I had one a few months ago, and even though I have chronic migraines this was SO different. The ER treated me with stroke & heart attack protocol. Definitely go!!

This is scary, but the feeling you described is similar to something I’ve experienced before and it was linked to a pinched nerve

Please get an mri or CT on your neck or spine!! I had this and turns out I have a bulging disk in my neck that’s pressing on my spinal cord 💖

It could be a thunderclap headache. The first time I got one was terrifying; I would say go get checked. A lot of times they will take to the back right away because they will want to rule out a lot of things 🫂🫂

Sounds like Occipital neuralgia, I have it too, it sucks! Apparently not dangerous, but still scary. Work on keeping your shoulders down.
