Put a one way bearing on that drive shaft with a brace mount if ya want to help save that engine. 🤷♂️Be a pretty easy solution if this is often or not lol. Other than could ya just gate the water to prevent back flow

Yall don’t have check valves to prevent water from flowing back. Our gear heads also have a ratchet system to prevent turning backwards.
