I’m on a journey to heal my silent acid reflux. I’m like pretty sure it’s what I have. I’ve mentioned it to an ENT but he did not really care lol. I have had chronic mucus issues since 2020. All it is is mucus. Every day every night I cough up mucus. And I feel it in my throat 24/7 but I’ve become to used to feeling mucus in my throat I forget it’s there sometimes. I don’t have any burning or any other symptoms except I burp a lot and my stomach is extremely sensitive and I can have diarrhea from something as simple as too much apple juice or a sweet treat. I have to be very strict with what I eat. Even drinking water will make my mucus come up. And I don’t really feel the reflux until it’s late at night and I’m trying to lay down and I feel like puke is coming up. 😭

I need your help. I’ve been suffering from LPR for a year and my throat is on fire every morning. Dr wants to send me for endoscopy but doesn’t understand that I can’t because of my emetophobia. I’ve Been on PPI for 11yrs and diagnosed with dysautonomia in March. I think it’s the stress causing it but it’s become a catch22 (worry-worse symptoms-more worry.) starting to think it’s since I stopped sertraline but not sure, I didn’t like the emotional numbness. I’m working on building vitamin levels back up as b12 was borderline low but the LPR is still bad even gaviscon doesn’t always work :( took Mebeverine for 2 years solid due to IBS-D but stopped Jan this year. Guys completely switched the other way after stopping PPI to test for h.pylori in Feb which was negative. I also cannot burp. Any other ideas? Stopping the stress seems impossible at this point 😢

just done endoscopy, I believe it is the infection and I hope it is because with antibiotics I am hoping to get this acid under control

Do you know if water can be a cause of acid reflux/heart burn? I have to drink a minimum of 3 litres per day (dysautomonia) I have taken away all possibilities. I supposed to have 500ml before I leave my bed in the morning, 250ml in, the acid reflux is strong. I also get silent acid reflux on occasions

A wedge pillow was life changing for me. I was having laryngopharyngeal reflux during the night. Would wake me from a sound sleep. So scary!

I take Claritin daily for histamine intolerance and my reflux is nearly non-existent now. Before, nothing was working anymore.

All really good points! Don’t forget diet changes! A lot of people just take PPI’s or anti acids but never change their diet which is key!

What if I have hiatel hernia? Someone told me that hernia isint a root cause of any reflux and something is building up a pressure in my stomach and that's why I have hernia 🤔

Honestly having come to realize that LPR can be caused by a million different things and that every person has unique triggers that change sometimes and you need 2 dozen doctor appointments for $5,000 to figure it out, I think I’ll just drive off a bridge instead

how do you regulate your nervous system cos I think that's my problem or I have sibo i had mine under control but just finished a course of radiotherapy and it has started it all up again I have to speak to dietician

So I had an endoscopy and she thought it was Barrett’s by the way it looked. Once the biopsy came back, it was negative for Barrett’s but her only suggestion is omeprezole and I don’t want to take that long term.

I’ve been on PPI’s for 6/7 years now, don’t think the SIBO breath test would come back negative because I’m taking them?
