Both are very intricate and internal feelings. When one experiences such extreme emotions, one is forced to turn to paper. For as you write, you're forced to slow down. Thoughts stream down your arm like a waterfall and words seep onto paper. Only then, when you see your reflection in the deep blue waters will you understand.
