As a mom w/ 24 yo and 23 yo at home, I feel this. They eat and use everything up. They have chores: clean their own bathroom (they don’t. It reeks); and each has a week of dishes while the other keeps the floors vacuumed (vacuums once; I vacuum 1-3x). The next week they switch. I’m not passive aggressive. I ASK outright for them to replace what they use up and to help more around the house than their “assigned” chore. They don’t.
