@markwilmson: NO TAX ON TIPS! On July 4, 2025, President Trump signed the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” aka the Big, Beautiful Bill and tucked inside: a shiny new 'No Tax on Tips' break. If your job is on a special Treasury Department list, you might skip paying federal income tax on-ta-da tips. And this applies all the way through 2028. The Treasury had 90 days to say who qualifies-and guess what? They released a preliminary list of 68 jobs, spanning eight categories: from hospitality and home services to… ahem… digital content creators like streamers or podcasters! Here’s a taste: Bartenders, wait staff, hotel maids, chefs… classic! But also-plumbers, gardeners, electricians, tow-truck drivers. And yes, digital creators, wedding DJs, massage therapists, tutors… even golf caddies! So what's the actual benefit? The White House says workers could save around $1,300-not chump change! You must earn under $150,000 individually-or $300k if filing jointly; Tips deducted capped at $25,000 per year; It’s temporary-only valid 2025 through 2028.

Isn’t this only if you itemize? It’s worthless to me as a part-time bartender because the married standard deduction is so high.
