Hon I was a caregiver to my mother with dementia I ended up with stage 4 cancer. Yes caregivers sometimes do. I was doing everything and have no helpfrom anyone with anything not even my “husband”. He won’t even take care of small things or even help pay bills. Most men leave. I’m being sucked dry by my supposed partner.

I feel you dude, and we appreciate all that you are doing as not too many men would do this. But what you are describing is what woman do every single day for years upon years! Then, after ALL that, we get left by our husbands for younger women! Abandoned, told we’re not young & attractive anymore. Left to pick up the pieces, after we gave them our best years, took care of them & the children, (some with special needs) only to be forced to do it on our own. Thank you for describing our struggle, and welcome to the club (family). Only got love for you brother, hold onto Jesus! He will never leave you, and will make a way! He did for me! 🙌🏻

i took care of my mom from my age of 14-33. the week she died my body was near death too. I believe any longer and it would of killed me. Felt like my battery getting drained

I know how hard this whole situation has been for you. You are doing such an amazing job. We can tell how much you love your wife. Are you able to get respite care to give you a break for your mental wellbeing? Even knowing you have a few hours a month to yourself can make a huge impact. As far as what happens if you pass first, are you able to purchase life insurance to financially protect your wife and child?

That’s what’s why so many divorce on paper. They will continue to live together of course they don’t say that. But they will divorce .so that your wife can get help and your children can get help assistance. You can have rent to an apartment a one bedroom or whatever or act like they can’t find you. And then they have Nurses come in to help your wife. You can see your children off to school you can get some rest and go to work go sale drugs . Hell I don’t know it all

I feel this. I can relate I didnt know that 40 percent of caregivers pass away before their person passes but I can see why. I have a severely autistic son he has the mind of a toddler but hes 10 years old now and 100 pounds. I still have to carry him and lift and pick him up to do things like changing his pull up or he doesn't understand some things so i still have to do everything for him, I can feel my health getting worse as I get older and hes only getting stronger and bigger as I get weaker amd it terrifies me to die even though I do my best to rest when I can, it still doesn't feel like enough. because the load of everything weighs on my shoulders and its a heavy burden to bear 💔

So true. Your child will get older and easier each year physically for you. Dont forget to let go ant chore that can wait and remember all the followers that understand and feel for you and admire you. You may be an example we all need as our loved one’s age and need care. Thank you!
