What he doesn't realize is that many of the French in Louisiana come from Canada originally. The word Cajun is a cognate with the word Acadian.

I'm not going to fault him for not knowing his history, but we were brutally removed from Canada and shipped to Louisiana. Many french people were killed in horrific ways. Many hid in the woods. Many families also walked back from Louisiana. Yes, WALKED. Eastern Canada has significant French populations, BTW.
